without convoluted opinions and harbored doubt
spent so long deceiving myself with false hope
there's more of a light but this match lights the end of my rope
and once you have realized you create your own end
its only the silence that you recognize as friend
that sweet taste of death leaves your lips with a gasp
this world fades away peace is releasing your grasp
desire has faded, only fear outweighs boredom
a walk with the wolves is less of a conundrum
than the effort it takes to strive for realization
this life's lost its luster, all that is left is an empty frustration

They throw their 2 cents before they try to understand
Riding trends like a wave they crash. quick as they swell
At the start of the next day there will be something new to sell
To make music is to make love but still theirs whores and romantics
Some sell it like a drug others through well planned antics
Some write what they mean and deliver with passion
But too many buy their scene and portray only fashion
Where did your love go? Did you buy out or sell in?
Singing words you don't know the meaning they were written
I can't succumb to success I'd rather be hated and ignored
Doing what I love best than be an artless fashion whore
there's too much acceptance of tasteless false idols
That we all should resent but treat them like role models
Till they fall from their podium and we cast them aside
While their replaced by the next one and were all told to buy
To create is expression but so many lose sight
And each year shows regression with less glimpse of a fight
For the passion and desire that makes music thrive
But I'd walk through the fire to keep that feeling alive
